FAQ

Does the app work offline?

Yes. All hinos and hinários are stored in a local database on your phone, so the app works fully offline, even in a trabalho far from any signal. Best used in flight mode.

Where do the hinos come from?

From NossaIrmandade.com, used with permission: the hinos are collected every week and offered to the app as updates. Hinos can also come from PDFs you upload yourself, or from hinários other people sent you, for example by WhatsApp.

How do I find an hino quickly?

Search finds hinários, titles, authors and single lines of lyrics. That works during a trabalho too: type a line you understood, and you have the right hino. A number finds an hino by its NossaIrmandade number.

What tips do you have for use during works?

Swipe left or right to move from one hino to the next. Pinch with two fingers to zoom an hino. Tap the heart on an hino to add it to “My liked hinos”.

Can I add my own hinário, for example from a PDF?

Yes. Choose a PDF and the app converts it. It recognizes almost all common layouts, and you can correct errors during the import. An .lvr file from someone else imports too. When an hino already exists, you decide field by field which version to keep. Nothing is deleted.

Can I edit hinos? What happens to my edits when the data updates?

You can edit every hino and hinário via the three-dot menu, including repetition bars. Edits stay on your device and survive updates: a field you edited keeps your version, everything else follows NossaIrmandade.com. You can go back to the original at any time.

How do I share a hinário with others?

Use “Share hinário as .lvr file” in the three-dot menu and send it by WhatsApp, email or any other app. Whoever has the app installed is asked to import it. More about the .lvr file format.

How can Santo Daime groups curate their own app version?

Groups can use the “Backup” feature to curate an app for all brothers and sisters, with corrections of NossaIrmandade hinos of their choice, their own hinários, and the hinários they sing most often, pinned on the home screen. This file can be distributed among brothers and sisters. Groups can also publish the hinários that matter to them as .lvr files on their website, or share them in their WhatsApp groups, just as they do with PDF versions today.

Can I use the app to create paper hinários?

Yes. Share an hinário from the app as an .lvr file and open it in the free print tool on this site. “Cut & Stack” puts four pages on each A4 sheet so that after cutting, the stacks are already in order. It also handles double-sided printing and cut marks.

Is this an ICEFLU app?

O Livro da Floresta is meant to serve all students of Mestre Irineu, whether from Alto Santo, from Mapiá or from any other line. Each line can edit and maintain its hinários according to its own traditions and share them among brothers and sisters through the backup function.

Is the app free? Do you collect data?

It is free and will remain free. It collects no data, not even usage statistics, and all your edits stay on your phone. See the Privacy Policy.

Why did you make this app?

Because I was without lyrics in works too often. And because sometimes it is hard to get printed hinários outside of Brazil.

The app is very useful, how can I say thank you?

If you find the app useful, please support the project Jardim de Belas Flores by Juliana Genuncio as a thank you. It brings education and hope to the birthplace of Mestre Irineu (São Vicente Férrer / MA).
